About the United States of America.

The United States of America (also known as the U.S.) has a diverse and rich history of ancestories. Its culture and society offer a range of interesting insights, making the country unique. It’s also known as a cultural melting pot. A country where different religions and cultures come together. Only to welcome everyone, regardless of their background.

Immigrants from different parts of the world travel to make their lives better in the United States. Cities like New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and Texas are often the first to attract.

Such diversity of minds has made the United States a global leader in innovation.

Most notably, Silicon Valley is the center of the tech industry. It is home to 30 Fortune 500 companies, including Apple, Amazon, Facebook, and Walmart. These companies alone have a combined net worth of over $8 trillion.

For such tech-savvy minds, the U.S. has made some major efforts to create cospaces by building over 4000 coworking spaces in the span of a few years.

From tech hubs to digital platforms, the United States of America is doing it all. Knowing the potential of such a specific demographic can raise the economy to another level.

Coworking Spaces in the United States.

Over the past few decades, the United States has significantly grown in terms of its working habits.

This change happened especially after the COVID-19 wave that made remote/hybrid working a necessity.

But as time has gone on, the majority of businesses still provide remote employment in addition to onsite positions.

At this point, coworking spaces have entered the chat.

And why shouldn’t they?

They provide a flexible and collaborative environment. Workers can be productive for as long as their hearts desire and as much as their jobs require.

This is perfect for entrepreneurs. It’s also ideal for digital nomads and students. People who are relocating will benefit as well. Small business owners can also find it useful.

The number of shared office spaces has increased in recent years. You can estimate it by the fact that New York City alone has over 300 coworking spaces to offer.

Whether it be a hot desk, shared meeting rooms, or private spaces, you can get it all from a cospace without actually owning it.

History of Coworking Spaces in the United States.

The concept of shared office spaces has existed since 1995 in Berlin. However, it didn't gain much traction until 1999, when 42 West 24 opened in New York City.

This space offered hot desks for the local community to work on. As expected, that didn’t work out well.

However, the spark was already out in the wild.

In 2005, Neurberg created the first official coworking space at Spiral Muse, a feminist collective in San Francisco.

He started his business from scratch and created a work environment similar to that of a regular company.

And before the news could go local, it went international! Creating coworking spaces in both London and Germany.

In 2006, finally, the second cospace was created in New York named Brooklyn Coworking.

In 2007, we got Jelly, and in 2009 we got the Global Coworking Unconference Conference. The fire is still up, creating over 4000 locations in 2024.

As of 2021, at the core of the global pandemic, the search for shared office spaces went digital. This shift led to the creation of multiple online hubs and platforms. These hubs promoted independent businesses finding the right space. This allowed them to set their own mark in this rising world of innovation and technology.
